South Africa beat Pakistan by one wicket during Match 26 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 on Friday, October 27 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. After opting to bat first, Pakistan were bundled out for 270 in 46.4 overs while South Africa chased down the target in 47.2 overs with one wicket remaining.
The Proteas’ innings was held together by Aiden Markram who played a brilliant knock of 91 (93) with the help of seven fours and three sixes in his innings. One of Markram’s shots turned out to be the contender for the shot of the tournament as he launched Haris Rauf’s speedy bouncer for a maximum over third man.
On the second ball of the 13th over, Markram jumped to his full height as he upper-cut the speedy bouncer from Rauf for a six.
